A common feature of songs with recorders on seems to be that they were made in the sixties by people who could reasonably be defined as hippies. Or else by Belle & Sebastian. I feel I should dislike Surrealistic Pillow but I like it very much even though it could surely be defined by naysayers as deeply dated. This song is pretty though. And Grace Slick plays her recorder on it. Plus, she holds it high and proud on the album's front cover. Go Grace!
