By 2009 Manic Street Preachers had refined what they did to brand status and you either cared what they had to say or you didn't. I awlways liked them for their fearlessness and their resolve to use ideas a as best they could. Their records were always Reading Lists. By this point they'd been invited into the fold and you suspected they rather liked beimng on the inide flicking through their well thumbed Gramsci and Sylvia Plath paperbacks.
