Song(s) of the Day # 4,131 Count Basie

Time for a seachange sometimes. Heading into a full on gale of negativity it seems from all sides and relentless bad news, I chose a Count Basie album as the soundtrack for my morning bath and breakfast just now and its cheering my mood immensely. Back to The Future as they say. Maybe I'm just embracing age but it's certainly putting a spring in my step.

I bought a couple of Jazz records for a fiver yesterday at a record shop around the corner from me yesterday. The other for what its worth was Dizzy Gillespie. Wuth a picture of Dizzy in Flow Motion puffing hs cheeks out on the record sleeve.

There are lots of record shops very close to where I live now. Where people go to buy actual records which they then proceed to take home and listen to. It's one of the few spiriting signs of life I find and worthwhile value sets to ahere to. What have you got mate? Nigel Farage ?

I definitely feel like listening to Jazz at home these days. It used to be something I preferred to go out and experience. Now it feels ike an act of defiance against the relntless incoming tide. Call me King Canute in shades. Did you see Glastonbury? No I missed it. From what I picked up it didn't much resemble Glastonbury. Count Basue in full flow would have brought the house down,
