It's nice coming upon a record that you boibnt at some point but can't remember actualyl buying and what led you to the record in the first place. This is cult material . With a slightly charged record sleeve, Peter Ivers is probably most readily associated at this remove with the Eraserhead OST which he worked om with David Lynch.
This is his second studio albim and has more in common with Bowie and Tom Verlaine than the likes of Jackson Brown or James Taylor. The sexual stance is certainly arch. It's a cool record and deserves a greater reputation than I suspect it has.Ivers opened for The New York Dolls and shared bills with John Cale and Fleetwood Mac. In 1983 he was murdered in mysterious circumstances and the crime remains unsolved.
