He was saying let him out of here before he was even born. Or so he'd have us believe. I read this a few years aago and I'm partially on holiday now so I'll read it again and share my thoughts here.
The first 25 pages are aong the best in the book. Hell is very good on the childlike state. Much of his best work is childlike. Profane. Wide eyed. Sexually explicit.
He's excellent on American suburbia. Growing up in suburbia.Kentucky. The anonymois avenues whuch seem to invite surrender and anonymity, The Alpha people. Who Hell disdains. The decision after his father's death, not to do what he's told to do. He loses his virginity and describes it in a graphic lewd but literary manner and we're on our way.
