Not a band I was famiiar with at the time. Or now really. Naming themselelves after a Thelonius Monk record though this is deceptive because they are far closer to the sporit of Edwyn Collins than Monk. Joy Ride is for the most part a passable jangling Indie record but it would be difficult to make a credible case that it is a lost masterpiece. There are several quite wonderful moments though and the constant and inventive bursts of trumpet and excursions into the more experimental amd daring made them a cut above most contemporary C-86 bands.
