Song(s) of the Day # 3,485 Diners

This is a great way to start the working week. Diners a New Wavish guitar band from Portland, Oregon, who put the stress on Pop in the way that Blondie and The Pretenders did it. 'A dopamine hit of instant gratification', as someone wiser than me has described their latest album DOMINO..

In some ways I've described the record in a paragraph here and there's little else to do save send you to it post haste. But I'll try to fill out some space telling you just exactly how much I like this. If you've got better stuff to do I won't be at all offended if we part ways here because I've said all I need to already.

Blue Broderick's is the candy coated voice at the core of Diners and DOMINO. The songs are generally done between two and three minutes, the album in short of twenty five, In 1977 when Television toured the UK with Blondie, some were mystified by the headliners aloof onstage demeanor and raved about how their support blew them offstage.

I love both bands but I'm not remotely surprised that Blondie went on to sell a lot more records. Diners tend their legacy splendidly here. For once a DOMINO effect that's constructive in every repsect. I'm sorry but I'm here all day. Have a good week!
