Searching for information about My Ugly Clementine with which to accompany this post, I've constantly come across the expression 'Viennese Indie Supergroup'. OK, they're from Vienna. But is anyone, from inhabitants of that great city particularly familiar with its Indie Scene. Should we be? There's lots going on in life after all.
Anyhow, the female trio's second album The Good Life is a bit of a mixed bag.. Some of it makes me think of that slur Indie Landfill which was so overused about fifteen years back. Indistinguishable from the herd.
Elsewhere they have an endearing rumble. The record comes into its own about halfway through. Some of their songs are genuinely touching. Something special. They give the impression that they'd be a treat live so keep an eye in case they're playing your home town. In the meantime this will more than do.
