San Francisco's Cool Ghouls come across as younger cousins of LA's Allah Las. Both have a strong affinity with the wonderful music and scenes those two cities produced in the late sixties. Cool Ghouls produced one of my favourite albums of last year in Animal Races and are following it up now with a wonderful sparkly tour cassette called Gord's Horse where they build on the effortless freewheeling sound of that previous record, evoking the spirit of The Byrds, Moby Grape, Country Joe and The Flying Burrito Brothers.
