More doomed romance and an opportunity to start a new brief series. A genius concept, 1992's collaboration between Strawberry Switchblade's Rose McDowall and Boyd Rice, Seasons in the Sun, which came out on Mute Records, composed of an inspired selection of weepy, death fixated, doomed classics from pop's past. Recorded by two artists with satanist leanings, (Rice in particular comes across as a specifically nasty piece of work), this doesn't lessen the album's wonderful impact - spell indeed! One of its greatest attractions is the way it unearths a series of gems that you may not be aware of along with more familiar classics, reason enough for the series coming up after this.
