Tim Burgess: Vinyl Adventures From Istanbul to San Francisco: # 1 The Durruti Column - Vini Reilly - Recommended by Tony Wilson

Two long running series on here have just come to an end so time to get some more going. Tim Burgess, of The Charlatans started writing a while back, obviously enjoyed it, and has kept going. Here's one of his latest, one for record obsessives like myself. A set of tales of trawling record shops the world over in hunt for that final record to complete your collection. Burgess is not a great writer, essentially he writes as he speaks, but he's certainly an enthusiastic one and he maintains reader interest, especilly if this particular idiosyncracy is one of your own. Each chapter details his search for a particular record recommended by a celebrity friend of his. There are over Seventy here in all so this will take us through to Midsummer. Wonder if we'll be out by then! Certainly starts with a fine, obscure classic. From 1989.
