Adam & the Ants went from cult to enormous in a matter of weeks in 1980. They were the name to drop in the playground for quite a while but after this Top of the Pops appearance made them public property at a stroke the hip kids backed away from them somewhat. Doesn't stop this song from being anything but great though!
