Danield Leopold's fourth album Darling Destroyer is a tribute to all things musical about Detroit, which is his home town. You get Iggy & the Stooges, MC5, White Stripes and Soul, R & B and Folk in turn. You may not like it all, it's an eclectic record, but depending on which parts of that tradition you appreciate most you will probably go for some of it. These two songs give a good illustration of the album's range. Above he does the Rock and Roll testifying below the American quest with Ride, one of the best things I've personally heard so far this year.
