Bedchamber - Capa City

I chanced upon Jakarta, Indonesian Retro - Pop marvels a couple of years back with their astonishing single Tired Eyes, and now they're back with a new album Capa City.

I'm delighted that Darren Jones, who I'm starting to think of as It Starts first lieutenant, for alerting me to the fact that they're back. He definitely deserves a medal.

Capa City and Bedchamber are both subtle operators. More so than many who look to the years between 1979 and '83 for inspiration. They understand that there's no need to show off and the primary objective should be to entertain rather than to boast of their intellect.

Thank goodness. Bedchamber make me think of Pylon, The Organ, The Chills and Split Enz. These are random associations but they are all favourite things. I was delighted to find Tired Eyes on here. It's too good not to be aired again.

But its new bedfellows are far from shabby. I've found my favourite Indonesian band. Their profile does not appear to be enormous but it should be larger. Check them out.
