Melbourne seems to have all angles covered music wise at the minute. Hot on the heels of RVG's deeply emotive bloodletting on Blood Worms comes this fabulous Krautrock veined record Solitary Transmissions.
It recalls and channels the spirit of Can, and Jaki in particular, more than anything else. Deep, hypnotic instrumental jams that summon up the anima of Oh Yeah, Doo Right and Hallelujah.
In the words of their press release, 'With a range of influences that range from Neu! to Soft Machine, Gang of Four, Miles Davis, Hendrix, Argent, Lonnie Liston Smith and beyond...' This is truly cosmic stuff. Krautrock imbued with the id of, (yes it needs saying), Post Punk. It's far out. Hits from the bong.
