Peter One is from Bonua, a small town in the Ivory Coast. He's had an interesting life, in music and generally. He emigrated to the US in the mind Nineties and is now settled in Nashville.
He's worked as a music producer and as a nurse but I'm here to talk about his latest album Come Back To Me. It's a product of great simplicity and purity.
Mostly guitar, light percussion and Peter's voice, a conveyer of joy and love. It's a rather beautiful record. One I enjoyed considerably.
I rather liked that, thanks Bruce! Got some singer songwriterly albums to check out if you don't know them. Fascinator, Greg Mendez and Michael Cormier-O'Leary all worth a listen.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant. I'll get onto those. This exchange is working really well. Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteIt works for me, thanks Bruce! Got another couple of random Spotify discoveries for you, in new-ish albums by Dignan Porch (lo-fi pop) and Bondo (mostly instrumental post-rock).
ReplyDeleteCool Darren. Appreciated as always.
ReplyDeleteWill definitely get onto your selection Darren. Finding so much great new stuff these days.
ReplyDeleteThere certainly is! There seemed to be loads of stuff out last week. Just listening to Mega Bog (thanks for the reminder!) after Amy May Ellis... Still need to listen to Califone, Horse Jumper of Love and more... Help!
ReplyDeleteCalifone and Horse Jumper of Love excellent too. Will get onto them. There are worse dilemmas I guess.
