Bangkok band Door Plant have a complete Beach Fossils playlist posted on their Spotify homepage. In a way this is all you need to know about them. Their debut album Drowsiness of DOEK is prettiness a simulacrum of all things Beach Fossils.
So you get the trebly, dreamy guitars that hark back to early Felt and Factory Records. The sense that you are re-experiencing the cusp of adulthood. It's all rather lovely without every once threatening to be highly original.
Still, it's nice to have a favourite Thai band, in the unlikely event that anyone should ask you. A sugary pop thrill and a highly pleasant start to a holiday for me.
