The world of Bandcamp and echoes of England in 1982 or '83. A band from Oakland, California who seem well versed in obscure Post Punk bands. The Chameleons, The Sound and Killing Joke, rather than Gang of Four or The Fall for a change.
An album called Spiritual Inspiration. Nothing you haven't heard. Thudding bass. Jagged guitar and thudding drums. Vocals that sound like a wet Wednesday in Widnes. The thought of all this might not fill your heart with joy, but there are worse sounds.
Public Interest do this all very well. Thumbing through records in your local charity shop, hoping to chance upon Sisters of Mercy or The March Violets 7 or 12 inch singles. John Peel sessions from the only band in Dewsbury. Sounds of long ago for audiences that are still hungry for it.
