Record Labels # 2 Postcard Records

Famously emblazoned 'The Sound of Young Scotland'. A quite brilliant set of records (listen to them at one sitting and make your day). A defining independent record label. In many respects they set the bar. Not much willowing down to do to choose a Top Ten as Postcard only released twelve singles in their first important incarnation between 1980 and '81. Only four bands to choose from, pictured below:

1. Orange Juice

2. Josef K

3. The Go Betweens

4. Aztec Camera

Nevertheless I planned to do the research and listen to all their A and B sides. Gave up halfway through and just made my way through and posted the A sides. They're all excellent and I need my tea.

1. Orange Juice

2. Orange Juice - Blue Boy

3. Josef K

4. The Go Betweens - I Need Two Heads

5. Josef K - It's Kinda Funny

6. Orange Juice - Simply Thrilled Honey

7. Orange Juice - Poor Old Soul

8.Aztec Camera - Just Like Gold

9. Josef K - Sorry For Laughing

10. Josef K - Chance Meeting

11. Orange Juice - Wan Light

12. Aztec Camera - Mattress of Wire (Postcard version here - live recording below)
