Belfast based Neil Brogan, formerly of Sea Pinks is back with a solo album the well titled Things Keep Getting In The Way.
It's the sound you'd expect of him. Rooted in the Eighties. Very Indie melodic jangle. Pop songs the likes of me would like to see in the proper charts but very rarely ever actually land up there.
Think Go Betweens or Chills. Sixteen going on seventeen. Songs that run betwen a minute and a half and three. C-86 or Sarah Records version of Ramones. Brogan produces them, one after another. As good an album as any to sit and the shade and listen to and hope or kid yourself that this is just a freak weather spell that will pass.
