It's easy to make lazy associations given a cursory listen. I was minded of early Talk Talk and Depeche Mode singles on initial hearing. Robert Smith is a huge champion which might lead you to think they have Goth genes. None of these associations are completely wide of the mark but the record has a glossy depth that is not immediately apparent and it certainly drew me in with the passing tracks.
