When I became infatuated with R.E.M. in the early Eighties there was all kinds of mention, by the band and others of other groups on the scene in Athens, Georgia and further abroad. For the more obscure artists mentioned, there was almost no way to track down their music except for going to America and getting the records. Some were worth it, Pylon, Mission of Burma, some I failed to get my head around such as The dbs. Just caught up yesterday with Oh Ok, also from Athens who featured Michael Stipe's sister Lynda amongst others.
