New Order took a while and it took their audience a while to find them. Cut adruft by the incalculable body blow of Curtis' loss as well as the brutal manner of hus departure they floundered for a while. They were fine musicians but needed their own identity and this took time. There's plenty of good stuff on Movement but much of it sounds slightly like Joy Division outakes.
