Song(s) of the Day # 3,699 Mint Mile

Thirty years and a day from the tragic loss of Cobain. American Alternative Music remains in the rudest health. Here's the latest example. I have the latest copy of Uncut to thank me for turning me onto Tim Midyett and his current project Mint Mile. The latest  American Indie semi depressed sensation for me to become semi obsessed about .

Missing David Berman? Well we should all miss David Berman. He was a one off but this may divert your attention for a while.

Songs that alternate between the semi comatose and the vaguely hysterical. Latest album Roughrider runs the gamut of glass half empty literate and informed thinking though I couldn't find an 'I'm actually being sectioned right now' number.

In fact it's a highly relaxed and enjoyable listen. Steel pedal tinged. There's nothing quite as apposite as C&W for a good forty minute all American mope.  If you enjoy those, this is one of the best examples you're likely to hear all year.

  1. Yeah, I like this, Bruce. Think I mentioned it to you a while ago, but it was buried with a whole bunch of others, so glad you discovered it elsewhere!
