Song(s) of the Day # 2,810 Bon Enfant

In terms of Rock & Roll languages it's clear that English takes the prize in this repect. That's self evident and I'm not sure that I even need to argue my case. Elvis Costello's recently sponsored reinvention of This Year's Model, makes the case for Spanish with great clarity. French band Bon Enfant's latest Diorama stakes the French language's claim for bronze medal status.

This essentially is an album that sounds much more as if it had been made in 1975. It seems like the kind of thing Mike Oldfield and his sister Sally night have got involved with. Sonically it's quite unremarkable. You've heard it all before. Its real appeal lies in its female Gallic lead vocals. I enjoyed it, though I'm not sure I would have done had it been sung in English.
