Part 2 on my catch up of the great records I've missed out on in 2022 as we make our way doggedly through an icy and treacherous December. This should keep me going until 2023 arrives.
And here's a drop of proper sunshine to remind us that good weather will inevitably return .Another singer songwriter who sounds like she's just moved into Laurel Canyon, early '72. LA's Marina Allen and Centrifics her first album proper after last years taster Candlepower.
Allen's voice is a thing of loveliness. Think Joni, think Rickie Lee. Think Linda Perhacs if you prefer. This is the kind of record you've heard before but are always happy to hear again.
Unadorned beauty for pastoral settings, A record that would have made my list. Sorry Marina, I only heard Centrifics yesterday. I'll keep my eyes out for you next time round.
