Good to see James Lavelle back. He and his Mo'Wax were definitely one of the more interesting aspects of that whole DJs as players thing which was so massive at the end of the Twentieth Century.
Latest album Rodine II is not all to my taste. It's an indication that an approach that was once so innovative and ahead of its time now sounds rather dated.
Probably a record best apprached by skipping around and seeing what takes your fancy. As generally Lavelle collaborates with a number of people Kiwanuka and the late Mark Lanegan most notably. There's plenty that's great on here, but it doesn't all grab me.
