Not a Cult Japanese concern but a young West Coast band who make a neat fusion of Shoegaze and AOR pop radio vibes. Current album, Castaway is their second, and I image it will have some takers.
This is gentle stuff essentially, never stepping over into the David Lynch territory it might. The band they reminded me of mostly was Mazzy Star but here again Tashaki Miyaki take the more airbrushed option.
There's nothing wrong with Castaway. It's a well put together record but it doesn't really shock or stir in the way that music like this should. I'll give it seven.
