1991. Eighteen albums from this year are in the list of Top 1,000 albums on the Best Ever Albums list. Indicating what a special moment it was. Here's their Top Ten.
1. Nirvana - Nevermind
2. My Bloody Valentine - Loveless
3. Pearl Jam - Ten
4.Slint - Spiderland
5. U2 - Achtung Baby
6. A Tribe Called Quest - The Low End Theory
7. Red Hot Chili Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magic
8. Talk Talk - Laughing Stock
9. Metallica - Metallica
10. Primal Scream - Screamadelica
And here's mine, composed from albums that I own. Just a phenomenal year. Several all time greats here, with Nevermind and Blue Lines ahead of the pack for me. It could be either of them at # 1 on any given day with Nevermind winning by a nose today. In many ways this was Creation's year with four albums in my Top Ten. My Bloody Valentine features rather low in my list even though I know it's a great record because it's always made me feel rather queasy whenever I listen to it. Screamadelica has also moved down in my estimation over time as I can't really stick Bobby's voice anymore. Sorry Bobby. Still looking forward to the memoirs. In many ways Saint Etienne, (I love Foxbase Alpha more with every passing year), might have been on Creation too. Then there's Spiderland and Yerself is Steam. The Nineties started here.

10.R.E.M. - Out Of Time
Also honorary mentions for Pixies and This Mortal Coil. As for me. I came back from my first year's teaching in Komarno, Czechoslovakia, taught at Summer School in a Public School in Henley, and had a nice girlfriend who came from Bolton, for a while.
