Talking of memories, over thirty years ago Iris Murdoch gave a reading at the university I went to and did a book signing in the campus bookshop afterwards. My girlfriend at the time got her to sign a copy of The Bell and then proceeded to pinch it. I think I disapproved when it happened but now I definitely approve. Well done Min! I also suspect Iris might have done something very similar herself in her youth and possibly even put it in one of her books.
