Neil Young and Nils Lofgren on guitar, J.D.Souther, Kenny Edwards of The Stoney Poneys and produced by Young's long time associate David Briggs, Two songs recorded in 1969 for Elyse's, (also known as Elyse Weinberg), second album Greasepaint Smile, recently re-released to belated acclaim.
All of Weinberg's stuff is worth a listen. Highly world-weary for one in her early twenties, most obviously reminiscent of Melanie. Weinberg left the music industry a little down the line for the path of self-discovery. A shame because she was an obvious talent.
