If in doubt, go down to the underground. Black Beach reignite the conflagration first lit in the early Eighties by the likes of Minor Threat, Mission of Burma, Black Flag, et al in the early eighties on Mail Thief. It's all incredibly authentic.
Thanks Bruce! I wasn't quite sure what to expect, or whether I wanted to listen, but I rather liked it. Very well done.
I was putting a list of recent listening together for you (in my head) and it has mostly been female and more pop-y. I may still give it to you! However, I came across the new album by Sluice and it is the first album in a while to excite me. It's more alt country/experimental folk and has a male singer. I have just read that members of the band are also in Fust and Weirs, who both had great albums out last year, and it sort of combines both approaches. I think (hope) you might like it.
