I had a fall out with a friend over Lady Gaga. I didn't understand the friend's perspective or where he was coming from. I posted a picture of a Madonna album on Facebook. I'd played it and enjoyed it. It was no big deal. My friend seemed to object. Both to the Madonna album and the fact that I seemed to enjoy it. I was not about to join the ladies fan club. I just liked and have always liked Borderline and her early tunes particularly,
My friend went away for a while and came back and insisted that Madonna was not fit to lace Lady Gaga' frilly nightie. Or something along those lines. I was a bit bemused. I don't know much about Lady Gaga, My playing a Madonna album and posting it on socially not intended as a slur on the Gaga lady I don't know her stuff very well. Perhaps I should.
I've listened to Lady Gaga's latest album Mayhem a couple of times in the last couple of days last night. Some lines jumped out at me. Some tunes too. I liked it well enough. I like it for the same reason as I liked Madonna Some of it seemed a but conveyor belt. But mostly class pop music.
