250 Albums- An Arbitrary Rumble Through My Record Collection # 110 The Fixx - Shuttered Room

 

This is frankly a pretty dreadful record. A record for people who thought they were robots  when the were 16. There's was no end of this sub Bowie New Romantic electric pap in the early Eighties. The Fixx and their record company did exactly what they needed to do with this. Took it to America where MTV was just setting off , toured relentlessly and sold an awful lot of records.

I meanwhile bought it as a 15 year old  and played it quite a bit. I think my main reaction was slight confusion. There were no end of better records I might have bought at the time. I bought this about a year ago for nostalgia's sake. I'd lost the original. I forgive my fifteen year old self. Lost Planes still works for me.. .
