Goat Girl remain one of the most interesting bands in England. In terms of their ideas and also in terms of their sound which always makes its own road. Called a 'London Art Rock Tri'o, by Pitchfork who pride themselves on being able to put ridiculous labels on things that don't need labelling. They're back anyhow. With thir album Below The Waste.
A band apart. Unlike most of the groups that came out of the Brixton Windmill scene that brought the label Post Punk back into fashion a few years back. They were never particularly interested in hanging with the pack. Nor one that seemed to prioritise high positioning on a Glastonbury stage over going on a genuine journey of discovery.Perhaps the only label that makes any actual sense to me is as an English Warpaint. They trade in texture.
