500 Greatest Albums of the 1980s ... Ranked! # 413 Hall & Oates - Private Eyes

 


Growing up. And knowing little about actual music, just what I liked, I always thought Hall & Oates stuff was a cut above all of the other stuff we were getting from America at the time. Certainly above Styx, Journey, Van Halen, Huey Lewis an all of that other AOR schmaltz. They had better songs for starters, 

Wuth time, and education I realised why exactly that was. For their understanding and gift for Soul. For Daryl Hall's wonderfully nuanced voiced. Blue Eyed Soul has never sounded finer.
