Song(s) of the Day # 3,684 Kid Kapichi

'Hastings Finest'. If that's what you're looking for . Let's face it. That place has been far too sleepy since Harold wossiface got one in the eye from the invading Normansback in the day .

Still something is stirring in those parts. At least according to a cursory listen to Kid Kapichi's latest album There Goes The Neighborhood. By my reckoning their third.

It's another slightly dystopian, directionless narrative of the kind that the UK has specialised in of late. 'Cheer up. It could be worse.  Let's drown our sorrows. Whose round is it anyway...IDLES? There are enough of them. And they're loaded...'

The Specials, The Streets, The Arctic Monkeys, Sleaford Mods. Dry Cleaning, IDLES. Yard Act. Now this. It's a bit cheerless and despairing frankly. And the records get slightly more hopeless and directionless. Meet me on the corner at closing time and I'll kick your head in. Mindful. But nevertheless ggression and violence.

The sound of fear. There are more questions than answers. This record  is treally just cries of alarm. One after another. It would be nice to see Kid Kapichi dig a bit deeper. .Perhaps they will do next time.  But not a bad album.
