Alternatives To Valium - Alastair McKay - # 1 The Users

I've started another series. I like starting new series on here. Reading new books. Often, but not always with a music connection. This one is the memoirs of a music journalist. You get rather a lot of these nowadays. At least they can generally write.

Alaistair McKay certainly can. He writes or has written for The Scotsman. And I think Sounds. He is himself a Scotsman. He grew up in the seaside town of North Berwick in the Sixties and Seventies.

His life and destiny, like so many was transformed by Punk. He comes across in these early pages as a lively, sensitive boy. His childhood is happy, colourful and scattershot. The book seems almost to be an exercise. A guide into how to overcome shyness. As such, it's immediately recommended.
