Just the kind of record you want to fall into early on a Friday morning before preparing for my lessons this afternoon and experience the happy descent into the weekend. Connie Lovatt's latest Coconut Mirror is sheer joy in vinyl form.
Working on the same basic guiding principles as Sufjan and Will Oldham seem to adhere to these days, that the secret of truly enjoy isabout completely enjoy enjoying the moment. Lovatt is the best company you could possibly want. A warm, enveloping childlike voice and a vision to match.
If you need a label then cutesy folk would probably suffice. This is thirty minutes of pure charm. One of the loveliest records I've come across for quite some time.

ReplyDeleteI feel the same, even though I don't have to write about anything! Have to stop myself and go back to things sometimes. Some stay around longer than others and I don't always know why.... Have just started listening to Tele Novella. Sounds like a beauty so far! Can offer back albums by Half Stack and Dream Sitch for more Americana-infused listening.
