I haven't been aware of the music of Texas instrumentalists Explosions in the Sky previously but I enjoted listening to their eighth album End earlier this morning.
They've been around for a while, since 2000, and End is their first since 2016. It sounds sad, and slightly elegaic at times. But then this seems to be becoming an increasingly sad world.
Anyway, this is a rather lovely ride. Seven lengthy tracks in the company of people who know what they're doing. A bit like Radiohead or The National if they decided not to sing this time.
