Anything that Courtney Barnett is involved in is goung to be of interest on some level to this blog. Courtney has been a great constant on here over the last ten years. If you put her name into the search option and you would probably get more hits than for any artist on here.
Courtney has alwats felt like a friend to me as much as an artist whose work I always like and often love. Ever since she first turned up in 2013, near the start of It Starts with Avant Gardener and its wonderful promo, which signalled early on that you really wanted to be her very best friend if you could.
She's never let me down. Her records have always been good to great. Latest, an instrumental soundtrack to her forthcoming film Anonymous Club is the least essential record she's come up with yet.
It's atmospheric. Evocative and I'm sure goes well with the film it was written for. Courtney without lyrics though is not really Courtney for me and I probably won't listen to this again once I've posted this review.
