Grizzly Bear seem to have been put aside as an ongoing project for the indefinite future. This is a shame. They're one of the brightest stars in the Pop sky. What it does mean is that we have their solo outings as some kind of consolation.
Here's another one. After Daniel Rossen's splendid You Being There from 2022 here comes another offering from him, along with Grizzly drummer Christopher Bear. The soundtrack to Past Lives a film about childhood reunion that's due in September and which is the object of considerable anticipation.
These are atmospheric, instrumental pieces, Most of all they develop a mood of reflection and space. The lack of vocals mean detail is not filled in allowing the listener considerable input. It's fine work which has much in common with the solo records from ex-members of Japan over many years. Daniel has already had a song of the day and for the most part I don't wish to repeat myself on here but in this case, given the beauty here. I'll make an exception,
