I'm naturally inclined towards any band that goes out under the name .Hotel of the Laughing Tree. It immediately indicates a surrealist bohemian inclination of the artistic type I've always been naturally drawn to.
This lot are earnest bearded Americans of a similar stripe to The National. Not being able to rub along with The National's new album, which came out last Saturday, I found this better company.
Faraway Friends their latest album is probably best advised for firm friends of the band. It settles into middle aged concerns early on, has good fun while doing so and doesn't waste your time, but I doubt I'll be back.
