Not much new music to write about at this time for obvious reasons. Which gives me time to peruse the end of year rundown charts. This is a rather special find. Oren Ambarchi, born in Sydney, Australia from a family of Sephadic Jews from Iraq.
A multi-instrumentalist he's been putting out Avant-Gard, improvisational, Jazzy records for over 20 years.. Shebang, his album from this year is my first encounter with him.
Fabulous, inspired stuff. It draws you in instantly and keeps you under its spell into the run out groove. Highly recommended.
