It doesn't take long for you to orient yourself when listening to LA quartet, Powder, Pink & Sweet's debut album Little Stories. You find yourself in 1991 essentially in the middle of a Lush or Slowdive record.
That's essentially what you've got here. Shimmery Shoegaze. Add Cocteau Twins and that the pulsing bass undertow which Hooky used to drive New Order forward and you've pretty much got the record.
So not by any means the most original record you're going to hear this year. But certainly an easy and pleasing ride.
