Fortanarosa is a town in Italy and a band from France with Anglo Indie geometric sensibilities. New album, Are You There? is an intense jangle drawing on the likes of Pylon and early New Order and more obscure Factory Record acts, while containing plenty of gifts of their own. A side project apparently of Paul Verwaerde , also of Monorail, there's more than enough muscle and vigour on show here to suggest it deserves it own space and consideration.
The whole record has a tick tock momentum and quiet power whichI found really winning on my listen this morning/ A busy, committed buzz which marks them out as ones to watch.
