Split between London and Brighton, Breathe Panel make a good sound. Simple, guitar driven melodies of a basic but thoughtful kind. All with sparse, minimalist titles. A case of less is more.
Starting their latest album, Lets It In their second I think, with A Good Day, they make it sound like one. Unpretentious but effective, the album wends its way on from there.
They establish a rhythm and it's their's. No immediate influences spring to mind. At least not overpowering ones. Their formula perhaps is based on the guiding principles of Math Rock. Whatever fuels their tank, it works for me. A neat record.
I need to listen to the album through still, but thought the single, Spring, had something of Streets of Your Town about it in parts.
ReplyDeleteIt's a nice record I thought Darren. Quite original too. They're doing their own thing. Will certainly have another listen to Spring though in that case.
