New York duo specialise in the kind uf sound that the likes of Green Day and Foo Fighters managed to convince countless thousands of people in the Nineties was Punk Rock even though it bares absolutely no relationship sonically with the original thing except that it's loud and energetic.
That's by no means a criticism and listening to We Are Scientists ltest album, Huffy, was anything but a chore. It's a positive, radio friendly half hour on a bouncy trampoline. It's the kind of record no parents on earth would mind their teenage kids listening to.
I've got no real criticisms of it as product. It's very fine product. It does the job it intends to do just splendidly. I just couldn't buy into it on any level which is important to me with music. I'll give it 8 for fulfilling its own mission statement.
