Terrible Signal come from Perth, Australia, but sound as if they should have actually hail from Dunedin, New Zealand, and have been signed up to Flying Nun Records in the early Eighties.
New album, The Window, their second, is a verdant, nocturnal delight. Its most evident reference point is clearly The Chills, and the band explore the melodic sensibilities possibilities first charted by those pioneers way back when.
The Window is clearly indebted to Antipodean giants, but it uses its sources of inspiration well.
It's a half hour pleasure ride over familiar hills and dales.
