So to Luna. First for 23 Minutes in Brussels which takes its name from an infamous bootleg of a riot in the Belgian capital provoked by a Suicide support slot for Elvis Costello & the Attractions in the late seventies. This is one of Wareham's roles. A documenter of Rock's important moments, though the lyric itself doesn't seem to speak of that particular evening.
To Egg Nog, a Luna rarity which first turned up on a Christmas promotional for fans but was considered good enough,(and it is), to get a place on the Best Of compilation which came out after they split.
Moon Palace, one of Wareham's personal favourites and a song that features on Penthouse, possibly the band's best known album, and includes a telling Tom Verlaine solo contribution and Wareham's own distinctive 'ba ba' vocalising.
And Bobby Peru from the band's 1997 Pup Tent record which features a fair demonstration of the way Wareham's mind works, both musically and lyrically. There are a lot of other songs that could easily have featured but these four will suffice in documenting a quiet, understated and gentle band's career and their small, distinctive ambition.
